NRF EXECUTIONS — Local eyewitnesses in Takhar claim to have seen the Taliban execute 2 NRF prisoners in the Warsaj district on Friday. The men were reputedly shot in front of their families in the village of Kata Amba, and photos of the bodies have been spread on social media.
ACCUSATIONS OF US COOPERATION — Senior political figures in Kabul have again claimed that Tajikistan, Qatar, and Pakistan are facilitating US drone flights over Afghanistan. Several recent sightings and purported attacks have continued to fuel the Taliban’s claims that the US is still waging war in Afghanistan.
WATER WARS — Iran has once again accused Afghanistan of violations of the 1973 water treaty. Iran claims that water from the Helmand River continues to be diverted in Afghanistan despite several meetings where Taliban officials claim the treaty would be respected.
