ISIS-K SUICIDE BOMBER TARGETS SHIITE WORSHIPERS, ATTACKS MOSQUE IN BAGHLAN – An ISIS-K suicide bomber detonated a device in a Mosque during Friday prayers in Pul e Khumri (Baghlan). The Mosque serves Shiite worshippers and at least 7 people were killed and between 15-20 were wounded in the attack. Unconfirmed accounts by eyewitnesses say the number of casualties reported by the Taliban are far higher. ISIS-K claimed credit for the attack late yesterday on their official social media accounts.
BBC SHOW ‘DARS’ CREDITED FOR HELPING AFGHAN GIRLS TO CONTINUE THEIR EDUCATIONS – The United Nations praised the BBC program ‘Dars’ for aiding the effort to assist Afghan girls who have been barred from continuing their education to continue learning. The show provides instruction for several subjects and is being downloaded by educators and then shared with their ‘stealth students’ in secret classrooms or study groups. The program is in its second season and could be an interim solution for providing access to learning for girls while the regime continues to uphold the barbaric policy of gender-based discrimination.
PAKISTAN CONTINUES TO DEFY SOME IN THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY WHO ARE CALLING FOR A CANCELLATION OF THE DEPORTATION THREAT – The Interior Minister, Sarfraz Bugti, said on Friday that Pakistan intends to carry out the threat of deporting nearly 2 million people on 1 November 2023. Despite multiple calls to reverse the policy, the Government has remained firm in its stated intentions. The Minister elevated fears that the Government would forcefully deport Afghans and others by saying that refugees would be shown ‘no mercy’ after the 1 November deadline passes.

IRAN
The Prime Minister of Qatar seemed to put in doubt the recently reported ‘re-freeze’ of the $6BN that was used in negotiations with Iran to release US citizens. The Washington Post reported on Thursday that the funds were effectively frozen again.
A senior US official confirmed again that no ‘tangible intelligence’ has been uncovered that ties Iran to the Hamas attacks.
The regime announced that tax receipts were nearly double that of petroleum sales and the revelation has caused many to question what the taxes are being used for. Several prominent journalists wrote articles calling for more transparency.

Several protests took place across the country as Pakistani citizens marched to support the Palestinians in Gaza. Some of the protestors burned Israeli flags and called for the destruction of the state. Police intervened in several protest locations to keep things from turning violent.
Financial reporting indicates the government has taken out over $3.5 billion in loans during the first quarter of the current fiscal year. The amount does not take into account an additional $2BN loaned by the IMF and UAE. The funds are reportedly being used to prop up Pakistan’s foreign reserves and pay some debt.
College students in Peshawar blocked roads to call attention to the murder of one of their colleagues, Hassan Tariq (17 years old) was shot and killed by unidentified men who stole his phone on Wednesday.
