Threat Analysis
LAST 24 HOURS: The Taliban demanded the return of former Afghan military aircraft, currently located in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
NEXT 24 HOURS: The CSTO is expected to make a joint statement about future dealings with the Taliban.
THREAT UPDATE:
· Source states that further arrests of former election officials should be expected in the wake of the disappearance of former IECC deputy, Mawlawi Din-Mohammad Azimi.
· The fiery rhetoric used by the Taliban with her neighbors over the military aircraft that were flown from the country suggest they are adopting a harsher foreign policy tone.
· Recent proclamations by the Tajik president concerning plans to build a fence along the border with Afghanistan could heighten tensions further and impact trade and travel.
