LAST 24 HOURS:
At least two confirmed explosions have been reported in the previous 36 hours. One is thought to have involved unexploded munitions, and the other appears to be terrorism related. Both resulted in casualties, and no group has yet claimed responsibility.
Taliban security forces increased patrols in and around Herat. Sources reported they were seeking four individuals and were circulating photos of two vehicles they thought may have been involved in the bomb attack. The bulk of the Taliban activity was focused in Police Districts 10, 11, and 13.
NEXT 24 HOURS:
The Taliban are on edge after the bomb attacks and are quietly attempting to reinforce key checkpoints across the country. Sources state they had high hopes for a peaceful Ramadan and are eager to avoid any further incidents.
